I don't know that there's really much to say about this game. The Falcons tonight just ran into a much better team that played a much better game. BG couldn't really get anything going on offense--Martin Samarco and Nate Miller were the only players to score in double figures--and couldn't stop the Bobcats on the other end. Beyond the first five minutes of the game, BG was never really in this one. They had moments where they did some good things, but they couldn't string any of those moments together. For the most part they looked sloppy and uninspired, and that's not going to cut it against many MAC teams.
One bright spot tonight, if there are any to be found in a 25-point loss at home, was Falcon forward Nate Miller. He had 16 points and 9 rebounds, and most of BG's "hustle plays" were made by him. What a good player he is, and only a sophomore. I shudder to think of where this team would be without him. He's going to develop into the type of player, like former Falcons (and MAC Players of the Year) Anthony Stacey and Keith McLeod, who is able to lead his team to victory not only with outstanding play but also by sheer force of will--hopefully next year, but definitely the year after. It's going to be a pleasure to watch him develop.
