Game Story | Box Score
It's always good to get back to Bowling Green. That's how I looked at this game as Brandi and I were deciding to attend. I didn't really expect the Falcons to win, although I thought they could, mostly just because Buffalo is so good and BG was coming off a poor effort at Miami last weekend.
And then we went to the game. The Falcons were down by eight at halftime, and that's when I started to feel like we would win. Mostly because Buffalo was shooting lights-out and getting all kinds of lucky bounces, and yet BG was scrapping and hanging around. And of course, that couldn't keep up for the whole game, right? Then BG came out hot and started cutting into the deficit, and once they took the lead, I had a good feeling. Some missed free throws as the game went on made me a little nervous, but they hung on.
And it was awesome to see a game like that—good opponent, close, back-and-forth game—in a loud and raucous environment. There are plenty of Anderson Arena comparisons floating around out there, and this wasn't that—in Anderson Arena, BG wins this game by 10+—but it was great nonetheless, easily the best I've seen at the Stroh Center (not that I'm able to get there terribly often, but still). Hopefully there are more like this one to come.
