Another game at Anderson Arena that came down to late-game heroics. It wasn't a buzzer-beater this time, but Martin Samarco did drill an incredible, off-balance, fadeaway three-pointer from the corner to beat the shot clock with 2.8 seconds left to give the Falcons their one-point victory. Samarco was incredible all game long, scoring 43 points overall. While he was the star, he wasn't the whole story--Brian Guerin notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists while starting in place of the suspended Ryne Hamblet; Brandon Bland played some amazing defense on Buffalo's leading scorer as BG clawed their way back into the game; and Otis Polk also had some key defensive plays. BG jumped out to a big lead in the first half, but Buffalo cut it to one by halftime, then sustained that momentum and built a big lead of their own in the second half. The Falcons never give up, though, and they were able to pull out a victory in the MAC opener for both teams.
