The Falcons tonight did not look like a team trying to snap a 6-game losing streak. They played with a great deal of poise. They handled Ball State's pressure defense very well, turning the ball over only nine times. They were patient on offense and got contributions from more than just their two main threats, Martin Samarco and Nate Miller. Sophomore Brian Moten stepped up with 16 points and was a key factor in the Falcons' victory. All in all, it was a very good team effort. This had a chance to be a carbon copy of the Western Michigan game--the Falcons got ahead early, and Ball State took some shots at them as the game went on. This time around, though, the Falcons were able to answer when that happened. They got defensive stops when they needed them and turned them into points on the other end. This was a good win, and hopefully the Falcons will be able to use it to build confidence as they move forward. They play at archrival Toledo on Saturday.
