This was a bad loss for the Falcons. Western Michigan is not very good, and even worse on the road--this was their first win on an opponent's home court. It looked early on like BG was going to blow them out of the gym, but they couldn't sustain their momentum. The Broncos were able to close the deficit to one by halftime, and although the difference was just a few points either way for most of the second half, WMU was able to pull away in the closing minutes. BG's defense just couldn't keep their players from driving to the hoop, and the offense had too many cold spells on the other end. I have to admit, I'm very disappointed right now. The Falcons seem like a team with potential, but they're having a hard time putting it together. This is a team they should have beaten. If they can't defend "The House That Roars" against a mediocre opponent like this, the rest of the season could be very long.
